Nuclear Weapons

  • The Scottish Socialist Party is committed to working for world peace

  • The removal of Trident and all nuclear weapons from Scotland

  • Withdrawal from NATO

  • The world wide decommissioning of nuclear weapons

  • A ban on nuclear testing

  • A halt to the transportation of nuclear weapons by road

  • The setting up of an arms diversification agency in consultation with the trade unions.

  • The SSP is opposed to the development of the National Missile Defence system. To go ahead with this project would set the possibility of world peace back by decades. Also worrying is the racist language being used by world leaders in order to justify its introduction.
